BSF seizes goods worth more than Rs 1 crore, nabs 181
Agartala, Feb 14 (UNI) Border Security Force (BSF) has seized smuggled goods worth more than Rs 1.14 crore from various parts of Tripura's West and North Districts during the last month and captured 181 persons including Indian and Bangladeshi nationals.
Timber and other forest products, narcotics, sugar, sarees were among the seized goods that were being smuggled to neighbouring Bangladesh, BSF officials said here today.
The border guards also captured 181 nationals of both India and Bangladesh during ex-filtraton and infiltration. Among them, 144 were Bangladesh nationals.
BSF also seized six country-made pipe guns, one 3.3 rifle and apprehended a few National Liberation Front of Tripura rebels.
The Border guard also disclosed that six All Tripura Tiger Force militants had surrendered alongwith their weapons last month, sources added.
