BJP to contest in Rajhamundry, Visakhapatnam civic polls

Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh BJP President Bandaru Dattatreya today said the party would contest in Rajahmundry and Visakhpatnam Corporation elections, besides Hndupur Municipality.

Talking to newspersons here he said the anti-Congress wave was sweeping in the State. The State Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's behaviour in the assembly yesterday needs to be condemned, he alleged.

Mr Dattatreya said it was uncalled for Dr Reddy as the head of the state to burst out at the opposition leader and the Telegu Desam Party(TDP) supremo N Chandrabu Naidu. The Chief Minister has violated the democratic norms, he alleged.

The BJP leader said it is high time issues like price hike of essential commodities and welfare activities of people were discussed in the assembly, instead of wasting our time in waging baseless allegations against each other.

He criticised the Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for not taking moral responsibility by tendering his resignation when his family members were caught while travelling in a train without tickets.
