Sales tax officer arrested for graft in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 13 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a Sales tax official while accepting a bribe of Rs 1200 at Kupwara, a police spokesman said.

He said a complaint was received by police that Mohammad Maqbool Bhat was demanding a bribe from one Ajaz Ahmad Lone.

A trap was laid and the officer was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 1200 from Lone.

The bribe money was also recovered from the accused.

A case has been registered in the police station concerned, he said.
