SAD worker dies of heart failure at polling booth in Moga

Moga, Feb 13 (UNI) A Shiromani Akali Dal worker and social reformer died of massive heart failure at a polling booth at Government Girls Senior Secondary School here late last evening.

He was 48.

Soon after serving tea to polling parties of the booth, Mr Gurdev Singh, who is President of Khalsa Sewak Society, a social association, felt some respiratory trouble and collapsed within no time while sitting in a chair.

A large number of SAD workers and security men on duty took him to the nearby civil hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.

A loyal and devoted SAD worker, Mr Gurdev Singh, who had recently joined SAD (Badal), had been performing religious service at Gurdwaras for the past 20 years.

His body was cremated after the Assembly polling today. A large number of SAD workers, including Jathedar Tota Singh, SAD candidate from Moga, attended the cremation.
