Probe complaints against Army and SOG, J

Sriangar, Feb 13 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights (SHR) commission has directed Inspector General (IG) of police to probe two allegations of human rights violations against Army and police.

A spokesman for the SHR said chairman Justice M Y Kawoosa, has directed the IG to investigate allegation against 34 Rashitriya Rifles (RR) for dragging out a police sub-inspector Mohammad Abdullah from a vehicle and keeping him totally naked. It was also alleged that the security personnel without any fault later beat up the police officer.

Justice Kawoosa in another order asked the IG to investigate allegation that a driver was beaten up by the SOG personnel on January 10 after he (driver) took some time to allow SOG vehicle to overtake on the highway.

The commission has directed the IG to conduct a proper investigation in both the cases and file a detailed report by on February 26.
