More than Rs 2 lakh cash stolen from side box of bike

Puducherry, Feb 13 (UNI) Miscreants smartly removed cash of Rs 2.11 lakh kept in the side box of a two-wheeler ridden by a cashier of the Eduction department here.

According to police, the cashier Balasubramanian withdrew the money from the State Bank of India main branch here last evening.

On way back to his office, Balasubramanian stopped his vehicle at the PWD office at Ouppalam to visit one of his friends. When he returned, the cashier found that box in the motorcycle was broken and the cash stolen.

On a complaint from him, Odeansaalai police registered a case.
