Man with Bangladeshi currency worth 2 lakh arrested
Coochbehar, Feb 13 (UNI) A person carrying Bangladeshi currency worth Rs 2,10,000 was arrested today from Dinhata under Kotoali police station here.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted search operations in the buses coming from Asom and apprehended Ali Sheik (32), who was carrying the currency in his boots.
Police said a case under FEMA Act had been registered against him.
Meanwhile another Bangladeshi national, Habibur Rahman (18), was arrested for travelling without valid papers.
During an investigation the man revealed that he had crossed the Dinhata-Kurshahat border in search of a job, police sources said.
