Lalu bewares people of SP government in UP: Supports Sonia
Lalganj (Rae Bareli), Feb 13 (UNI) Asking the people to beware of the present Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and railways minister Lalu Prasad today solicited support for Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the coming state assembly polls.
In his speech at a function here to lay the foundation for the country's third rail coach factory, Mr Prasad said law and order in UP has deteriorated in the present regime.
''Only support to Mrs Gandhi in the assembly poll can change the scenario in UP,'' he claimed.
Without taking names, the former Bihar chief minister said the situation in UP is norsening, even as Congress is trying hard to speed up developmental works.
''Only a Congress government can fulfil the aspirations of the people of the state,'' he noted.
''People termed me idiot, when I advocated the name of Mrs Gandhi for the Prime minister's post..now they are realising, that I was correct,'' he added.
