Kerala to set up courts for women to curb atrocities
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 13 (UNI) Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said separate courts will be set up in the state for handling atrocities against women.
''Even though there are several laws to protect women, the atrocities against them have not come down, '' he said while inaugurating a seminar on 'Law and Domestic violence against Women' here.
A separate court would avoid inordinate delay in the atrocity cases against women and thus bring down the domestic harassment that they face, Mr Balakrishnan said.
The community police system would be introduced in all the police stations in the state, which would help in bringing down domestic violence against women, he added.
