JCB to start 14-tonne excavator production from April
New Delhi, Feb 13 (UNI) A leading construction equipment maker JCB India, a subsidiary of UK-based JC Bamford Excavators today said the production of its 14-tonne tracked excavator will start from April at its Pune plant.
''We will start our 14-tonne excavator production from April,'' JCB India Managing Director Vipin Sondhi told reporters here.
The company is already producing 20-tonne and 21-tonne capacity excavators.
Mr Sondhi said further investment would be made to upgrade its Rs 100 crore Ballabgarh (Haryana) plant, but did not divulge the amount of investment to be put into the plant's upgradation.
With a market share of 55 per cent within the construction equipment industry segment, JCB India offers a range of Backhoe Leaders, Loading Shovels, Tracked Excavators, Telehandlers and Skid Steer Loaders.
The company has its two plants in Pune, Component plant and Heavy Line Manufacturing plant.
At present, the company has sold over 50,000 machines with a frequency of one machine out of every two machines sold in the country.
Mr Sondhi said he expected a 25-30 per cent growth year-on-year, as it sold more than 10,500 machines last year.
