Hooda orders crop damage survey
Chandigarh, Feb 13 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today ordered special 'girdawri' (survey) in the entire state to assess the damage caused to standing crops due to hailstorm and flooding of areas.
Mr Hooda who reviewed the situation arising out of heavy rains, hailstorm and lightning that has lashed the region, said directions had been issued to get the special 'girdawari' conducted in a time-bound manner.
The report of the survey was expected to come within ten days, he added.
The Chief Minister said the loss of life and property, if any, would also be assessed. The special girdawari would be conducted under the supervision of senior officers, he added.
The Chief Minister also announced to give a compensation of Rs two lakh each to the families of those four children who died due to lightning in village Dhani Lamba in Fatehabad district on February 11.
