HC dismisses writ seeking stay on Ludiana West polling
Chandigarh, Feb 13 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today dismissed the writ petition of a Rashtriya Janata Dal activist, seeking stay or postponement of polling in Ludhiana West constituency.
The Division Bench of chief justice Vijendra Jain and Justice Rajive Bhalla today dismissed the writ plea filed by Balbir Singh who had alleged that his nomination papers had illegally been rejected by the returning offcer, at the behest of Congress candidate Harnam Dass Johar.
He wanted the stay be able to contest the seat for which he had filed papers as an RJD candidate.
The bench observed, while dismissing the plea, that election petition was the remedy in this matter.
