BJP-Sena to have alliance in 27 ZP elections

Mumbai, Feb 13 (UNI) Buoyed by success of the Shiv Sena-BJP combine in Mumbai and Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections, the saffron alliance will continue in all the 27 Zilla Parishad elections, scheduled to be held on March 11, BJP today said.

BJP spokesman Madhu Chavan told reporters here, ''Considering that Zilla Parishad elections will be the last elections before the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections scheduled for 2009, BJP will leave no stone unturned to defeat Congress.'' He said local level workers of BJP have been authorised to work out the alliance and that there would not be any friendly contest to ensure success.

He said 27 persons have been appointed as incharge for the 27 Zilla Parishads. He announced the names of 10 leaders who would give a report about the party's performance in 10 corporations, which was not upto the mark.
