UP govt provides land to DDA for commonwealth games
Lucknow, Feb 12 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today decided to provide its Irrigation department land at Janubi Charagah in the National Capital to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), to set up infrastructure for Khel Gaon for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
In a similar decision, the government also decided to sell another piece of land in the same area to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav here.
For Khel Gaon, the state government will provide Irrigation Department-controlled 30.887 acres land at the rate of Rs 61.50 lakh per acre.
The DMRC would be provided with 36.67 acres of land -- also at the rate of Rs 61.50 lakh per acre.
However, the UP government has made a condition that if the two lands are used for commercial purpose, then the DDA and the DMRC would have to share 50 per cent of their earnings with the state government.
