Stern action against absconding staff : Health Minister
Ranchi, Feb 12 (UNI) Jharkhand Health Minister Bhanu Pratap Shahi today expressed concern over the absconding tendency among the medical staff, including doctors in state.
Talking to UNI here, Mr Shahi said stern action would be taken against them.
According to Health department sources, about 60 such doctors were in the list of such abscondors and even the department had no information about them.
He said those doctors would be dismissed from their job, adding their dismissal would be reconsidered if they established contact with the department by giving an application.
Referring to the cases of suspension in the department, Mr Shahi said the matter would be sorted out by organising lok-adalats.
They would also be asked to write an apology and would be terminated if they were again found indulging in irregularities, he stated.
In the context of providing medical facilities to former and present judicial officers, Mr Shahi said the recommendation of the Shetty Commission had been approved by the department, adding it would be imlemented after the Cabinet approval.
To a query, Mr Shahi said efforts were on to strengthen medical facilities in the state, adding a two-member team had gone to Bihar to observe the 24-hour functioning of emergency services in the primary health centres of the state.
Expressing concern over the rapid increase of Kala-azar cases in Santhal Pargana area, he said directions had been given to take measures to check the disease.
Mr Shahi further said a four-member team had been sent to the area.
