Shiv Sena gears up for Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti polls

Mumbai, Feb 12 (UNI) Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray has convened region-wise meetings of leaders and office-bearers from districts, where elections to 27 Zilla Parishads and 310 Panchayat Samitis will be held on March 11.

Mr Thackeray, former Lok Sabha speaker and senior leader Manohar Joshi and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Ramdas Kadam will hold deliberations with district co-ordinators, MPs, MLAs, leaders of frontal organisations, on planning and formulating strategy for the crucial polls, which will decide the mood of the rural electorate, party spokesperson Ms Neelam Gorhe said.

Western Maharashtra will be covered on February 14, Vidarbha (Feb 15), Marathwada (Feb 16), north Maharashtra (Feb 17), Konkan and Thane (Feb 19), she added.
