Private co to develop Railways' high-speed corridor lines
Jaisalmer, Feb 12 (UNI) Indian Railways' high speed and freight corridor will be built by a private company and a fast track will be laid in the new corridor which will have trains running at a speed of 150 km per hour.
The Delhi-Mumbai centre, for the time being, has been chosen for laying the first high speed corridor lines, said Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) A K Khanna, who was in Jaisalmer yesterday.
He said the corridors will be built by a Rs 20,000-crore private company which will develop the new tracks and the freight corridor will be built under the golden corridor, which will link the four metros of the country.
Replying to a query, Mr Khanna said the Thar Express, suspended due to flood waters in Barmer, will resume its journey from February 17.
A new software is being developed to provide computerised tickets to passengers traveling to Pakistan, which will also include their passport and visa numbers.
