Mercury dips in Delhi, more rains forecast in the day
New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) Cold conditions, following rain and thunderstorms in the capital since Saturday, left Delhities shivering for the third consecutive day today even as weathermen held out the possibility of more rains during the day.
For the fourth consecutive day, heavy cloud enveloped the skyline, indicating the possibility of more spells of rainfall in the next 24 hours.
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been experienced in Delhi since Saturday, with showers accompanied by hailstorm in some areas yesterday. The rains and hailstorm have sent the mercury plummeting in the capital.
About 11 millimetres of rainfall had been recorded till 0830 hrs today. The weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hourrs with possibility of light rainfall in some areas of Delhi.
The weathermen attribute the rainfall in the capital since Saturday to the influence of western disturbance originating from Pakistan.
