''Defeat of Temple Bill exposed J and K Govt's partisan policies''
New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) The All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) today came down heavily on the Jammu and Kashmir Government for defeating the Temple Bill in the state assembly, saying the ''non-secular'' credentials of the Congress-PDP coalition were exposed.
''We condemned the partisan approach of ruling coalition towards the concerns of the Kashmiri Pandit Community.... the defeat of the Temple Bill has exposed its non-secular credentials,'' AIKS General Secretary Shiban Dudha said.
He said the ''intentions'' of the Government were clear as the draft Bill was kept pending in the Assembly for around two years.
''It has now been unceremoniously defeated in the State Assembly. This also establishes the seriousness of the State Government in restoring confidence of the exiled community,'' he added.
Mr Dudha alleged that the assurances held out by the Government to pass the legislation were an attempt to delay it.
''The government was not at all serious about the Bill and the assurances given to the community were just empty words,'' he added.
