Central funds to Maha, MP, Haryana for SGRY, Karnataka for IAY

New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) The Centre has granted assistance to Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana for the implementation of the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojna while Karnataka has got it for the Indira Awas Yojna.

The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Grants-in-aid of Rs. 4.41 crore as second instalment of central assistance for implementation of SGRY during the current financial year in the district of Pune in Maharashtra. The district of Yamunanagar in Haryana also get central assistance of Rs.1.32 crore as the second instalment under the scheme.

The Ministry has also sanctioned Grants-in-aid as second instalment of central assistance for implementation of the SGRY to the eleven districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The grant is towards plan expenditure and will be utilised for approved items of works subject to the conditions laid down in the SGRY Guidelines. The expenditure on implementation of the programme with regard to cash component is to be shared on a 75:25 basis between the Central and the State Government, respectively.

It has also released Central assistance for the year 2006-07 under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) to four Zilla Parishads of Karnataka, viz. Gulbarga, Kodagu, Udupi and Koppal. Gulbarga got Rs 185.40 lakh, Kodagu got Rs 9.494 lakh, Udupi Rs 55.50 lakh and Koppal Rs 216.667.
