Jamnagar, Feb 12 (UNI) The BJP's women wing will organise a huge rally against price rise in all the seven municipal corporations of the state on February 17.

Addressing mediapersons here yesterday on 'Samarpan Divas' on the death anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay, BJP state general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Vijaybhai Rupani said the rally will commence at 1430 hours on February 17. BJP women MPs from Delhi are also expected to participate.

The rallies will culminate with memoranda being given to the Collectors.

Mr Rupani said price of milk, cement, cooking gas and other essential items have gone up considerably.

From February 23 when Parliament session starts, the BJP MPs will raise issues regarding Gujarat's pending problems and the Centre's lackadaisical attitude towards the state. Also there would be a question on GUJCOC, which the Central government has not made into a law though such laws prevail in other states, notably MCOCA in Maharashtra, Mr Rupani said.

Issues like Centre transferring Gujarat's share of 200 megawatt of power from the central pool to Maharashtra would also be raised.

this has led to the state purchasing the shortfall of electricity at a higher price, he added.

He also wanted the Western Railway headquarters to be in Ahmedabad and called for more funds from the Centre to Surat's flood affected people.
