Loan of Rs 3.55 cr loan for 678 units in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Government has provided Rs 3.55 crore loan for setting up 678 units in the North Kashmir district of Baramulla during the current financial year, an official spokesman said today.

He said units in fisheries, handicrafts, sheep and diary have been established by the people, thus generating employment to youths.

On implementation of Haryali in the district, he said, the water- shed development programme has been started in Uri, Tangmarg, Baramulla and Gurez blocks at a cost of 12 crore.

The project for other twelve blocks are being finalised, he said adding the implementation of the programme will help in checking soil erosion, providing irrigation facilities, afforestation and water conservation.

He said Rs 79.24 lakh have been provided among the self help groups formed in the district.
