Kalam awards NABH accreditation to Max Healthcare
New Delhi, Feb 11: President APJ Abdul Kalam has conferred the prestigious National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) accreditation upon Max Healthcare.
''Having a national accreditation like NABH will further enhance the credibility of Indian healthcare system, as India has been recognised globally as a healthcare destination for high quality and cost effective medical care,'' Max Group Chairman Analjit Singh said in a statement.
Located at Saket in South Delhi, Max Devki Devi Heart and Vascular Institute and Max Super Speciality Hospital are the leading tertiary care hospitals in the city.
Max Healthcare, one of the leading hospital chain, operates seven centres in Delhi and NCR, offering services in over 30 medical disciplines. It has a base of over 1,000 leading doctors, 2,400 employees, and 4,00,000 patients with number of beds growing to over 1,500 by 2008.
NABH is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up with the cooperation of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the health industry to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organisations.
