Govinda winds up Congress campaign in Punjab

Amritsar, Feb 11 (UNI) Actor-turned-MP Govinda today wound up the Congress campaign in Punjab by paying obeisance at the Golden Temple and praying to 'Waheguru' to ensure the victory of his party in the state assembly polls to be held on February 13.

He also paid obeisance at Durgiana Mandir and offered prayers for the success of the Congress in the elections.

Rain played spoilsport as the election rallies. which the cine star was to address in the city, were cancelled.

He, however, did manage to address a rally at Tarsika village in which he tried to woo the voters for the ruling party with 'filmi' dialogues.

However, due to inclement weather very few turned up at the rally, quite in contrast to the crowds that BJP star campaigners Hema Malini and Shatrughan drew during their election tours in support of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP candidates.
