CM appeals to Opposition not to waste time during Budget
Hyderabad, Feb 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today appealed to opposition parties not to waste precious time in the Budget session of the Assembly, commencing tomorrow.
Expressing his views at the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Executive meetings this evening, the Chief Minister said the ''people's agenda should dominate the Assembly session and every minute of the proceedings should be dedicated to discuss the people's problems''.
He said several issues such as the power crisis, progress of irrigation projects, Bhoo Yagnam, farmers' suicides, prices of essential commodites, IIT location, science city, RTC, Outer Ring Road, Greater Hyderabad would come up for discussion.
''Naturally, the opposition parties would try to politicise issues. Let us not give scope for rising tempers and heated arguments. I call upon the members of the ruling party not to get agitated by the opposition's provocations and lose their patience''. He said in the last two-and-a-half-years, the Congress government tried its best to bring the economy back on track, focussing only on the people's problems. ''Our ultimate aim is to take the benefit of every scheme to every citizen of the state'', he added.
