TV actor Amit Behl admitted to hospital due to stress

Mumbai, Feb 10 (UNI) Stress and depression took a toll on the health of television actor Amit Behl, who suddenly collapsed in the midst of the day here today.

Hypertension, chest congestion, anxiety disorder and stress, apparently are the causes of Amit's sudden breakdown and he has been advised to remain in the hospital for at least three days.

It was allegedly reported that he was sacked from the show 'Paraya Dhan' because he came drunk on the sets.

Amit however, said, ''Talking about 'Paraya Dhan', the reason I am no longer there in the show is because they were confused how to place my character in terms of my looks. And moreover I was just a pawn in the channel world. Infact, the producers of the show personally called me up and apologized.'' Meanwhile, close friends in the television industry including the crew of 'Paraya Dhan' have expressed outrage at the whole incident.

'Paraya Dhan' Director Partho Mitra said, ''Amit started off his career with me, and I know him very well. It is impossible for anyone who knows him to believe what was printed." Director Ashok Pandit, for whom Amit has worked in most of the projects including 'Tere Mere Sapne' and 'Muqammal' said ''I have known Amit for almost 15 years now, and he is a very disciplined actor and genuine human being. I was shocked to hear something so ridiculous about him.'' According to well known director Arun Frank, ''I have been associated with Amit for the past six to seven years and we have worked in a couple of serials, so I really don't think Amit is capable of such low behaviour."
