Rapid Response teams in Rajasthan to counter bird flu
Jaisalmer, Feb 10 (UNI): Special teams have been formed in six districts of Rajasthan to counter the possibility of an outbreak of bird flu in the state following the incidence of the disease in border areas of Pakistan.
The Rapid Response teams will be trained in Jodhpur from February 23, informed Dr K P Joshi, joint director, animal husbandary department.
An expert team from Jalandhar would train these special teams.
Dr Joshi said 25 Rapid Response teams have been formed for Jalore, 10 each for Jodhpur, Pali and five each in Jaisalmer and Barmer.
Keeping in mind the winter and the arrival of migratory birds, dropping samples are being collected from the shelter.
No strains of bird flu virus have been detected so far. The administration and Border Security Force have also been alerted in this regard.
