Indore, Feb 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench has fixed February 14 as the next date for hearing on the bail plea of ABVP's former state president Shashi Ranjan Akela, main accused in the last year's Professor H S Sabharwal murder case.

After hearing the arguments from both the sides yesterday, Justice S S Dwivedi directed the CID, which is investigating the matter, to present case diary and video footage in the matter.

The court also asked whether there was a video footage that showed the accused beating up Prof Sabharwal.

Prof Sabharwal died in the student violence on August 26 when he was beaten up by the students irked over postponement of student union elections at Madhav College in Ujjain.

The CID was entrusted with investigating the matter. Six ABVP workers, including then ABVP state President Akela, were named accused in the matter. At present, they are lodged in Ujjain's central jail.

Meanwhile, four main prosecution witness had turned hostile during their deposition in the court earlier this week.

Earlier, Ujjain's district and sessions court had quashed the bail plea of Mr Akela.
