One killed, four houses and shops gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 10 (UNI) One person was killed in a road accident, while four buildings, were struck by blaze in the Kashmir valley overnight, a police spokesman said today.

He said a tractor turned turtle at Bomai Sopore, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir district of Baramula today, causing on the spot death of the driver Showkat Ahmad and injuries to one Tanveer Ahmad Wani.

In another road rage, a Tata Sumo and a Maruti car collided with each other near Wanpoh resulting in damage to both the vehicles.

However, occupants of both the vehicles escaped unhurt.

Meanwhile, in a seperate incident, two shops were gutted by fire at Iqbal Market Kupwara.

In another fire incident, a two-storied joint residential house of one Nazir Ahmad Naikoo and Ghulam Nabi Wani and another two-storied Kaccha house of Reyaz Wani and Bashir Wani was destroyed.

However, there was no loss of life in the incidents, the spokesman added.
