Metal prices recover on fresh demand: BME

Mumbai, Feb 10: Metal prices today recovered on fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous category, copper heavy, copper utensils and brass utensils went up by Rs 500 each per quintal on better buying support. Brass cuttings also shot up by Rs 1,000 per quintal on higher advice.

In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars, zinc slab and lead ingot rose by Rs 500, Rs 200 and Rs 300 per quintal due to less stock supply. Tin slab went up by Rs three per kg due to reduced stock supply.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 29,500, Copper utensils - Rs 27,500, Brass utensils - Rs 22,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 23,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,500.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 32,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slab Rs 17,500, Lead ingots - Rs 7,500, Tin slab - Rs 615 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,880 (per kg).
