I will change UP politics if SP regains power: Mulayam
Mathura, Feb 10 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said he will change the face of state politics if given a chance to come to power again.
''...It's not hidden from the opposition that over the years, the mass base of Samajwadi Party (SP) has increased. That's the reason why it is hatching a conspiracy again and again to shake the pillars of the three-year-old UP government, ''SP supremo alleged while addressing a gathering here.
All efforts of the opposition would turn futile as in a democratic set-up, people had the power to decide the fate of any political party he said. ''At present, people are with SP.
Therefore, I am seeing the party's success through rose-coloured spectacles,'' the Chief Minister claimed.
Castigating the opposition for naming SP-led UP government behind the Gorakhpur riots, Mr Yadav said it had developed a tendency of politicising each and every issue.
Gorakhpur, Aligarh and Mou were sentitive districts and the opposition should dare not even think of creating any disturbance there, he maintained.
He claimed that the state government successfully tackled communalism in all the sensitive districts despite hurdles created by the opposition.
