Bhopal, Feb 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha today formed human chains across the state to protest anti-people policies of the Centre that has led to spiralling prices.

The party claimed that more than two lakh women took part in the protest. Various public meetings were also organised.

State BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar, Vice-President Maya Singh and other BJP leaders took part in the protest in different places.

In the state capital, state BJP General Secretary Makhan Singh led a large number of women workers who formed a human chain from Roshanpura to Avantibai square. Amid light rainfall, the human chain threw traffic out of gear for quite some time.

A delegation of the BJP Mahila Morcha presented a memorandum for the Governor to the district administration.

In Indore, Mr Tomar and state BJP Mahila Morcha Anju Makhija led the formation of human chain with women holding placards bearing slogans demanding reining of price rise.

Mr Tomar said common man has been burdened by the weight of soaring prices due to wrong policies of the Centre. Spiralling prices of foodgrains, medicines, fuel and other items had made life difficult for people.

Alleging that the Congress-led-UPA had failed on all fronts, he said farmers were committing suicides on Congress-ruled states because of high prices and debt.

Human chains were also formed Sagar, Mandala, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sidhi, Katni, Chhatarpur, Betul, Vidisha and other districts.
