Manipur: EVM machines not yet perfect
Imphal, Feb 10: Chief Electoral Officer R.R.Rashmi today admitted that there were problems with the EVMs during the first phase of elections held on February 8.
About 3000 EVMS had been brought to Manipur though only around 2100 were required. However, during the first phase of elections it was found that 15 EVMS failed to work and had to be replaced, he said.
He said the new EVM was more sophisticated than the earlier version and was programmed to stop voting by a single individual repeatedly.
