CM announces aid for dilapidated temples
Vijayawada, Feb 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced an yearly financial assistance of Rs six crore to 2,016 dilapidated temples, which lacked resources, in the state.
Inaugurating the 'Nitya Dhupa Deepa Naivedya Padhakam' at Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here, Dr Reddy said Rs 1500 each would be granted to temples for conducting rituals and the remaining amount, if any, could be utilised for the maintenance of priests.
He said the revival of temple rituals would attract more devotees.
