Manipur: 76 candidates in fray for third phase of polls

Imphal, Feb 10: Altogether 76 candidates are in the fray for the third phase of elections to the 12 Assembly constituencies of Tamenglong, Chandel and Churachandpur district of Manipur on February 23.

A total of 1,85,598 females and 1,77,752 males would exercise their votes.

In the third phase of elections there are two women candidates.

Chandel has the maximum of ten candidates while Singhat has three candidates.

Indian National Congress is contesting in 11 seats, LJSP-9, RJD-6 National Congress Party in 5, Samajwadi Party-5, the Bharatiya Janta Party-3, Communist Party of India- 4, Manipur People's Party (MPP ) , 3 , NPP-3 , SAP-2, JD(U)-1, PDA-1, and Independents 23.

There will be 516 Polling Stations and 516 EVM will be used.
