Warm farewell for K'taka HC judge

Bangalore, Feb 9 (UNI) Karnataka High Court Judge Mr Justice Handyal Laxminarayanaswamy Dattu was today accorded a warm farewell on his elevation as the Chief Justice of the Chattisgarh High Court.

In a full court meeting, Bar Council Chairman Y V Sadashivareddy delivered the farewell address in Kannada as the outgoing judge had taken a liking for Kannada literature. He recalled the efficiency, intelligence, fairness and strictness in adjudication of justice and the legal knowledge of the judge.

Replying to the felicitation, Mr Justice Dattu expressed gratitude to Lord Venkateshwara and all those who helped, nurtured, supported and encouraged him during his 32-year-long service as a advocate and judge. He specially thanked his wife Gayathri, brother-in-law Jagadish and other family members who sacrificed for his sake. He thanked the members of the Bar and judges for their cooperation and said parting was always sad.
