Samsung to open manufacturing facility in Chennai

Chennai, Feb 09 (UNI) Digital technology leader, Samsung India Electronics Private Limited today laid the foundation stone for setting up its new manufacturing facilities for colour televisions and colour monitors at Sriperumbudur near here.

The foundation stone was laid by Regional President and CEO for Samsung Southwest Asia headquarters H B Lee, the company said in a release here.

The Sriperumbudur manufacturing complex, spread over 80 acres of land is the Company's second manufacturing complex in the country.

The company plans to set up facilities for refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, printers and other technology products in this complex apart from colour televisions and colour monitors.

The colour television and the colour monitor facilities, expected to commence production in August this year, will have production capacities of 1.5 million units per annum and 1.0 million units per annum respectively.

The company also plans to manufacture LCD TVs and LCD monitors at this facility, the release added.
