Rape and murder accuted arrested in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Feb 9 (UNI) Dehradun police arrested a person today for allegedly abducting, raping and murdering a minor girl.

Police also recovered the body of the girl from a nearby jungle this evening.

According to police sources, Nasir was arrested for allegedly abducting, raping and murdering Shahista (13), daughter of one Shamshad Ali, resident of Morowala on February 4.

Police said Nasir who was also from Morowala and knew the victim offered her a lift to her sister's house.

However he took her to the Banjarawala forest and raped and killed her. Acting on the compain registered by Mr Ali police arrested him on the basis of the information that he was seen last with the victim by some villagers.

The body of the victim has also been recovered on his direction and sent for autopsy, police added.
