Rangarajan was a philanthropist,and doyen of Indian Press:Speaker

New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today said in the passing of Mr S Rangarajan, Chairman, Kasturi and Sons Limited, the country had lost a philanthropist, a great lover and promotor of sports and one of the doyens of the Indian Press.

In a condolence message sent to late Mr Rangarajan's family and the Hindu Family, Mr Chatterjee said, "his role and contribution in sustaining free press and thereby strengthening democracy in the country have been well recognised. The professionalism and commitment to journalistic ethics that he has strived to sustain through the reputed newspaper 'The Hindu' and other sister publications will be remembered forever." UNI
