Punjab elections to brighten NDA prospects--Dhumal
Jalandhar, Feb 9 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said the outcome of the ensuing Punjab assembly elections would have an impact nationwide in favour of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Talking to reporters here, Mr Dhumal said the NDA allies SAD and BJP are heading for an impressive victory in Punjab.
Mr Dhumal, who is also member in the BJP national executive, said the immediate impact of the Punjab elections would be in Uttar Pradesh where BJP and NDA allies would also emerge stronger.
He said elections are also due in Himachal Pradesh by next year and BJP is sensing its victory in the hill state.
Mr Dhumal was in the town to camapaign for the SAD-BJP nominees for the February 13 assembly polls. He has so far addressed election rallies in 11 assembly constituencies in Ludhiana, Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur districts.
