Kolkata, Feb 9 (UNI) A high level Bengal Pradesh Congress delegation team would visit tomorrow to trouble-torn area of Gangamore at Haldia, where a police officer was killed last Wednesday by the irate villagers in a violent incident over land acquisition.

" The police officer's death is unfortunate. We have deferred our demonstration programme at Haldia following the incident and will extend all possible help to the administration to bring back normalcy in that area. But the cadres of the ruling party and police should stop torturing the people in the Gangamore area after the death of the policeman, " Congress Legislature Party(CLP) leader of the West Bengal Assembly Manas Bhuniya told newsmen here today.

The administration should identify the culprits and Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee should take more initiative to restore normalcy in that district, he demanded.

Later the delegation team would submit a report to the AICC and the Chief Minister in this regard, he added.

Besides Mr Bhuniya, the delegation team included former PCC president Somen Mitra and working president Pradip Bhattacharjee.
