Modern washable apron set up in Bhubaneswar Station

Bhubanesar, Feb 9(UNI) A new washable apron, the first of its kind in the country, based on German technology called 'Rheda 2000' has been constructed on Platform Number 3 of Bhubaneswar railway station According to East Coast Railways(ECoR) sources there are no joints or gaps in between sleeper and concrete bed in this new type of washable apron which will provide longer service life and less maintenance.

The speed of trains on this apron is unrestricted unlike the apron designed in India where 30 km speed restriction has been imposed.

Apart from this, cleaning of platform will be easier and it will provide hygienic environment.The washable apron constructed in platform No.3 at Bhubaneswar was much better that the conventional one earlier constructed on Platform number 2 and 4.

ECoR sources said about Rs 1 crore has been spent for construction of this modern washable apron in 45 days time.
