Kerosene oil for army on sale in black market in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested four persons in connection with selling of kerosene oil, meant for army and other security agencies, in the black market.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Handwara, Dr Haseeb Mughal said that acting on a tip-off, a police party headed by Station House Officer (SHO) of police station Handwara Syed Fayaz Ahmad, intercepted a truck at Kulangam.
During the search operation, police recovered 35 barrels containing 7500 litres of illegal kerosene oil from the truck, he said.
Dr Mughal said those arrested have been identified as Farooq Ahmed Ganai, Reyaz Ahmed Ganie, Mohammed Shafi Magray and Noor Mohammed.
He said a case under FIR number 38/2007, U/S 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered in P/S Handwara.
The police officers said that Kerosene oil was being brought from Army and other agencies.
