Huge cache of explosives seized in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 9: Security forces in Tripura have recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition and arrested two suspected militants in this connection from Gandacherra sub-division in Dhalai district today.

Police said acting on a tip-off, the State Police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and CRPF jointly raided a house at Mogpara where the cache of ammunition had been illegally dumped. They also arrested two persons in this connection.

Among the seized ammunition were carbine one, Magazine, 28 rounds of 9 mm pistol, and 61 rounds of 7 mm fire arms, the sources said adding that the accused were being interrogated.

This seizure comes following the arrest of three suspected NLFT militants from the G B Bazar area of this capital city on Wednesday night.
