Energy audit conducted at Hooda's residence

Chandigarh, Feb 9 (UNI) Haryana became the first state in the country to carry out 'energy audit' at the official residence of its chief minister.

A spokesman for the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) said six solar water heating systems of total 1900 LPD would be installed to meet the need of hot water requirement of the official residence of the chief minister.

The Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh hooda had sought installation of energy efficient Compact Florescent Lamp and T-5 (28 W) tube lights to phase out existing bulbs and tubes.

The spokesman said the existing solar water heating system of 700 LPD capacity would also be augmented as it was found insufficient to cater the need of the official residence of the chief minister in the energy audit carried out by HAREDA.

The spokesman said that replacement of existing bulbs and ordinary tubes with compact florescent lamps and energy efficient T-5 tube lights and augmentation of existing solar water heating systems would save around 93,176 units of electricity and an amount of about Rs 4.19 lakh per annum with an estimated one-time investment of about Rs 8.92 lakh.
