Ahmedabad, Feb 9 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today criticised the Congress-led UPA Government and alleged that the nation-wide power crisis occurred due to their inability to foresee the demand and supply of energy.

Speaking at a function organised at Thavar village in the bordering district of Banaskanth, to dedicate 220 KV power sub-station to the nation, Mr Modi blamed the UPA Government for power crisis in other states of India.

''When Gujarat, with it's limited resources can supply uninterrupted power supply to all it's 18,000 villages, it should not be impossible task for the Centre to achieve it at the national level, especially with it's unlimited resources,'' he said.

The new 220 KV power sub-station has been set up at a cost of Rs 40-crore.

Later, MR Modi performed pooja at the newly built golden-flag at the famous Ambaji temple in the holy town of Ambaji. This golden-flag is made with 7,250 gms of pure gold and valued at about Rs 80 lakh.

Mr Modi also laid a foundation stone for a 200-bed Hospital which will be built at a cost of Rs 6.40-crore in Ambaji. This civil hospital has a medical tie-up with the civil hospital of Ahmedabad.

''A heli-pad will also be built up in it's premises to facilitate bringing of patients from surrounding inaccessible hill areas of the district,'' Mr Modi announced.

The Chief Minister also launched the 'Doodh Sanjivani Yojna' with co-operation of Banas Dairy for tribal primay school children at nearby Amirgadh town. Under the scheme, each tribal student studying at the 325 primary schools of the district will be given 200 mls of milk on a daily basis.
