CBI court frames charges against former Union Minister
New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) Special CBI Judge Vinod Goel today framed charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy against former Union Minister Rashid Masood and IPS officer Gurdayal Singh.
The CBI alleged that Rashid and Gurdayal, the resident commissioner of Tripura Bhavan in 1990, entered into a criminal conspiracy with one Sandip Pawar to manipulate the admission procedure of the prestigious K G Medical College of Lucknow.
Eventually, the conspiracy helped Pawar get admission into the college in 1991 by wrongfully showing him a bona fide resident of Tripura, according to the CBI.
The Directorate of Health, Tripura, had an arrangement with the K G Medical College to grant admission to the students of Tripura on a priority basis.
The trio manipulated the provision to their wrongful gain, the CBI alleged.
