Bomb hoax in Karnavati Express

Surat, Feb 9 (UNI) A hoax call about a bomb being planted in the 2933 Mumbai-Ahmedabad Karnavati Express today caused the train to run late by around one and half hour, the Surat Railway Police Control room informed here.

According to sources, an unidentified caller rang the Railway inquiry office in the evening and said a bomb had been planted in the Ahmedabad bound Karnavati Express.

Railway authorities stopped the train and the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dog squad were called for a thorough search but nothing was found, sources said.

The train then left from here around 1930 hrs, sources said.

''The train was already late by half an hour and halted here for another one hour for the search to be conducted,'' sources added.
