BJP MLA acquitted in decade-old cases
Bokaro, Feb 9 (UNI) Two separate courts acquitted BJP MLA Yogeshwar Mahto in two decade-old cases in this district today.
According to prosecution, a case was registered on December 13, 1996, under Harla police station against Mr Mahto, then a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha activist, presently an MLA from Bermo, and nine of his accomplices in manhandling cases.
Mr Mahto along with his associates manhandled a supervisor of a company that mainly cleans an ash pond.
In another case lodged in the same police station on December 14, 1996, he was an accused along with seven other persons for creating nuisance and even resorting to blank fire at gate number four of the Bokaro steel plant.
Both the cases were being heard in the fast track courts of Sanjit Kumar Choudhary and additional district and sessions judge Basant Kumar Goswami.
