BEL signs MoU with Lockheed Martin at Aero India

Bangalore, Feb 9 (UNI) Officials of BEL and Lockheed Martin signed an MoU today to explore business opportunities on potential co-production opportunities in support of the Indian Government's current and future aerospace and defence electronics requirements as well as Lockheed Martin's international market requirements.

The MoU was signed at the Aero India 2007 air show at the Yelahanka Air Force station.

''Our partnership with Lockheed Martin will be mutually beneficial. It will help us provide innovative and hi-tech solutions for foreign manufacturers seeking Indian partners to meet their offset requirements. We will also provide contract manufacturing support for Lockheed Martin,'' Mr K Prakash, General Manager (International Marketing) of Bharat Electronics Limited, said.

He said BEL could offer 'Build to print' as well as 'Build to spec' solutions at its nine manufacturing facilities.

''BEL is one of India's leading electronics companies and have a lot to offer to potentially support our company's products. We look forward to expanding our relationship,'' Mr Orville Prins, Vice- President (Business Development for India) of Lockheed Martin, said.
